Counting history

If you have only the regular WhatsApp (green icon), install the WhatsApp Business app (free, available on App Store and Google Play) and choose 'Migrate from WhatsApp' during setup. Your number, history and contacts are kept.

Use the WhatsApp Business app

Go to business.facebook.com using the same Facebook account you will use here. Open Settings, then Accounts, then WhatsApp Accounts, click Add and follow the wizard to register your number as a business asset.

Register your number on Meta Business

Once your number is registered as a business asset, it will appear in the Facebook dialog and you can finish the connection without losing the WhatsApp app on your phone.
